World Wide Web Anniversary

The creation of what would become the World Wide Web was suggested by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau at CERN, in Switzerland. The name was suggested on August 1, 1990 and by October of that year they had designed a prototype Web browser. They also introduced HTML and URLs. By early 1993, there were 50 Web servers worldwide. Come check out both the history and current trends concerning this now household technology at the Todd Library during the month of August.

Since this month is dedicated nationwide to showcasing our National Parks and Recreation areas, the Todd Library in turn is dedicating our monthly book display with part of our collection of books and DVDs focusing on our country’s National Parks. Celebrate the Blues

With the Chicago Blues Festival going on in the month of June, we decided to “celebrate” right along with our collection on the history and famous artists of the Blues. Come in to the Todd Library and learn about the Blues and then go to Chi-Town to enjoy the music and special events.
