If you would like to see the documentary or read the book An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, and see what Gore has been talking about, come to the library. We have both the DVD and the book, along with Climate Change 2007, by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The IPCC is the group that shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore this year. Gore says his Nobel Peace Prize is an honor and a chance to “elevate global consciousness” about the threat posed by climate change.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
I’m very excited to introduce to you a new database that may sound familiar, the Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. If you’ve used some of our Contemporary Issue books in the library, you’ll be happy to see this electronic database of some of the titles you are familiar with. You can search for information on a wide variety of current topics–from AIDS to Iraq to gangs and more. You can search your topic or select one from their list of popular topics. You can narrow your search by content level and content type (academic journals, statistics, primary sources, viewpoints and more). The Viewpoints tab will find full-text articles from different perspectives on your favorite topics.
This is the perfect database to use for those persuasive, pro/con or argumentative essays or speeches! You can access Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center either in the library or on any internet connection (with your login and password). Try it, you’ll like it!
BONES AND ROCKS
While they may not seem like typical library resources to you, the Todd Library has a collection of bones and medical models, as well as rock identification kits! The medical models of the skull, skeleton, circulatory tree, and the heart are just a few of the models. We also have models of the fossil skulls of early man like Homo Erectus and Neanderthal. The rock identification kits are great to use for your Earth Science class. You will find these resources at the Circulation Desk, so just ask one of our friendly Circulation staff. These materials are for Library Use only, so stay in the library and study some bones or rocks.
