Congress declares war on Germany and its allies on April 6, 1917 after the loss of American lives overseas. Other countries to join our lead. Come check out the Todd Library’s collection on WWI history during the month of April 2017.

Anniversary of when the Dalai Lama  was forced to flee Tibet

Tibetans suffered under China’s persecution of Buddhism and after years of scattered protest, a full-scale revolt broke out in 1959. The Dalai Lama was granted political asylum in India.
