The age old controversy over Capital Punishment is again brought to light with the first execution by electrocution used to carry out the Death Penalty. This happened at the Auburn Prison, Auburn, NY. Ernest Hemingway remains to this day, one of America’s greatest authors. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 21, 1899. He made a name for himself by writing such amazing books as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and For Whom the Bell Tolls, to name just a few. Hemingway was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1954. Come celebrate and check out one of his books at the Todd Library during the month of July.
