Finding
Atlantis : a true story of genius, madness and an extraordinary quest
for a lost world / David King.
Adam’s two cents: I
am a sucker for any book that has ‘genius’ in the title; this book has

how can you pass it up?!

Civilized
life in the universe : scientists on intelligent extraterrestrials
/ George Basalla
Adam’s two cents:
This book presents the view of scientists aplenty as they try
to understand extraterrestrial civilization. Enough said.

Cluny

could read and most feared the coming millennium would bring hellfire
and damnation upon humble and not-so-humble sinners alike…” (Donna
Chavez, in Booklist) – if that doesn’t pique your interest, nothing
will.

The
homework myth : why our kids get too much of a bad thing /
Alfie Kohn.
Adam’s two cents:
Who doesn’t like a book that questions one of our societal bedrocks
(the overstuffed backpack, that is)?

Her
best shot : women and guns in America / Laura Browder.
Adam’s two cents: A
well-written book on a topic worth knowing something about…
