According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isle-linguistics.org\/resources\/walkden2011.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research<\/a> by <strong>Dr. George Walkden<\/strong>, a <strong>University of Manchester<\/strong> lecturer, \u00c2\u00a0the Old English word <em>hw\u00c3\u00a6t<\/em>, which begins the English language\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s oldest epic poem (\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hw\u00c3\u00a6t!
